Descriptions of what we do in the classes.
The Toddler class. What I try to do.
The first 15 minutes I let the kids have free play where they warm up to being there and get to explore the equipment themselves.
Next we do the warm up song together then try to get them to do a few stretches( with parent's help)
After the stretches I go through each equipment and show how it is used, I encouraged all the kids to do each equipment. With my help or with parent's help. Then we dance with ribbons. The kids can play with the ribbons as long as they want. There's more free play with learning the equipment encouraged.
3-5 year old class
First is a warm up song, then stretches. Next I do one or two of the theses things: ribbons, hula hoops, or animal races. Then I go through the equipment with the children and they take turns doing that thing. ie cartwheels, single bar hip flips, balance beam. I go through 3 or 4 things so they know what they are supposed to do. Then we do a circuit and the kids go around in a circle doing all the equipment getting to practice all the skills they leaned. That lasts 10- 15 minutes and we conclude with a cool down song. After they get their shoes on everyone gets a stamp.
